Introduction to Web GIS

Course Story

This Course is designed to introduce learners to basic GIS concepts and software skills that they can apply and use out-of-the box when they return to their daily GIS roles.

Course Content

The course is divided into two basic parts: maps and data. The first six lessons focus on how to create, symbolize, and label digital maps then how to create a static map for exporting or printing. The second part of the course focuses on data – how to: organize and manage it, convert street
addresses to x, y locations, how to create new data, how to edit data, and how to query and analyze data to solve a GIS problem.

Audience

GIS professionals and others who have GIS knowledge but no ArcGIS software experience.

Prerequisites: Knowledge of Windows-based software for basic file management and browsing is required.
